• Computational Designer

    We are currently looking for a Computational Designer for our design Hub in Cairo.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled and innovative Computational Design Specialist with expertise in Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Revit, Dynamo, Social engine and fluent coding in Python and/or JavaScript. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging computational design tools to drive research and development efforts. Your focus will be on ensuring projects pipe line run smoothly between (rhino 3d, Grasshopper) and (revit , dynamo ) and back. Also from (rhino 3d, revit ) to ( unreal engine ). Creating plugins, developing geometries and structures using Rhino 3D and Grasshopper. You will also utilize your coding skills to develop custom scripts and tools to enhance the design process. Creating materials and textures for unreal engine. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects and push the boundaries of design through computational methods.

    You can expect the following:

    • Collaborate with the research and development team to understand project goals, challenges and requirements.
    • Utilize Rhino 3D and Grasshopper to create complex geometries, structures and parametric models.
    • Develop custom plugins and tools to extend the functionality of Rhino 3D and Grasshopper and give the technical support to the design team.
    • Develop custom families and tools to extend the functionality of Revit and give the technical support to the documentation  team.
    • Create and manipulate textures, materials and lighting, environments to enhance the visual quality of the 3D models, 3d virtual tools and animation in unreal engine.
    • Helping the team to create final presentations demos and applications to deliver to clients
    • Write clean, efficient and well-documented code in Python and/or JavaScript to automate design processes and workflows.
    • Collaborate with other team members to integrate computational design techniques into the overall design process.
    • Explore and implement innovative computational design strategies to drive research and development initiatives.
    • Conduct testing and optimization of design solutions to ensure performance and efficiency.
    • Stay updated on the latest advancements in computational design, coding languages and relevant technologies.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to team members regarding computational design and coding best practices.
    • Document and present research findings, methodologies and design solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.
    • Responsible of the VR set and VR room as well as the 3D printer machine.

    You bring along:

    • Proven experience in computational design and research and development using Rhino 3D and Grasshopper.
    • Strong coding skills with fluency in Python and/or JavaScript. Familiarity with additional design and scripting tools is a plus (e.g., Revit, Dynamo, Processing, etc.).
    • Proficient in creating complex geometries, structures and parametric models using Rhino 3D and Grasshopper.
    • Experience in developing plugins and custom tools for Rhino 3D and Grasshopper.
    • Familiarity with Unreal Engine and its material editor, blueprints and animation systems.
    • Experience in creating materials, textures and lighting in 3D rendering software.
    • Understanding of real-time rendering techniques and optimization strategies.
    • Solid understanding of computational design principles and methodologies.
    • Ability to write clean, efficient and well-documented code.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, computer science or a related field is preferred but not required.
    • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new design techniques and software.
    • Very good command of Arabic and English. Knowledge of German or Spanish is a plus.
